Deer Park PTA News - Spring 2009

Welcome to Spring, Rangers! We hope you take some time over the spring break to rest, relax, and recharge. You’ve earned it!

March was another busy month at Deer Park. FCAT and SAT testing was underway. We celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday and Read Across America at our PTA General Assembly Meeting. Special thanks to 3rd Grade teacher Mr. Singleton for an amazing reading of the “Cat In The Hat.” We had another fun dual Dining Night at Stonechase Grill & Chico’s. And we ended the month with our March Madness basketball game between the Deer Park faculty/Staff and the 5th Grade Rangers!

One of the biggest developments on our campus over the past month and a half has been the completion of our Covered Courts! Half of the sports courts and one of the play areas are now covered in beautiful “Ranger-green” shade cloth! All of our Rangers are already reaping the benefits of this project. We’d like to thank all of the parents and volunteers who made this possible, through your hours of time and your generous donations.

Mark Your Calendars! The 3rd Annual Deer Park Elementary Rangers Dads Club Golf Tournament is on Saturday, April 25th! This year’s tournament will again be held at The Eagles Country Club, and will feature lots of fun to go with the great golf! All proceeds benefit Deer Park PTA programs. For more information, contact golf@deerparkdads.com. We hope to see you there!

The Deer Park PTA Board of Directors is still accepting nominations for various Board Positions for 2009-2010. If you are interested in becoming a part of the PTA Board, please contact Debbie Reeves at Leadership@deerparkpta.org.

Not sure you want to jump onto the PTA Board just yet? Not to worry! There are many other opportunities for you to be a part of.
